Congressman Bill Posey (R-Rockledge) will host a fourth Entrepreneur Summit in Brevard County to continue efforts to bring together various entrepreneurs from across the 15th Congressional District to showcase their innovative technologies to the public and potential investors. The Entrepreneur Summit will take place in the Hartley Room at the Denius Student Center of the Florida Institute of Technology on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 from 8:00AM – 12Noon.

The August 30th forum will be Posey’s fourth summit for local area entrepreneurs in Brevard County and his fifth entrepreneur summit overall. An Osceola County Entrepreneur Summit was held in April and another is being planned for Indian River County in September.

“These forums provide an opportunity for entrepreneurs to showcase their new products and innovative technologies to the public and potential investors with the goal of creating jobs and new businesses in the local area,” said Congressman Posey.

Posey’s Summits,” said Melissa Stains of the Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce. “The networking and trading of business information is priceless. These summits are giving exposure to companies that otherwise might not have a platform.”

“Planning is underway and the BCC SBDC is proud to be part of the coordination team for the fourth Brevard Entrepreneur Summit,” said Victoria Peake, CBA Director of the Small Business Development Center at Brevard Community College. “The Summits are a wonderful opportunity for enthusiastic entrepreneurs to introduce their ventures to an esteemed review panel. The SBDC encourages our clients to participate as presenters when possible and to attend the Summit to gain information on launching a venture, seeking investors and management counsel and networking with small business owners, investors and advocates.”

The agenda includes a keynote address by Congressman Bill Posey and presentations by eight companies. Edward Scott, Ph.D., (Scott Center for Autism Treatment) will be a guest speaker. Other speakers include Florida Venture Forum, Melbourne Regional Chamber of East Central Florida, Greater Palm Bay Chamber of Commerce and Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce. Networking and a continental breakfast begins at 8 a.m. The program begins at 9 a.m.
