Congressman Bill Posey (R-FL) will host an Entrepreneur Summit at the Technological Research and Development Authority (TRDA) Business Innovation Center in Melbourne, Florida on Monday, October 18, 2010 from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. The summit will bring various entrepreneurs from across the Space Coast region together to showcase their innovative technologies.  Presenters include a variety of start-up and early-stage companies representing a wide array of industry sectors.

 “This is an excellent opportunity for the most innovative companies in our community to come together to share ideas,” said Congressman Posey. “Our hope is that this summit will provide a forum where these innovators can showcase to investors some of the new technology that’s on the horizon and help spur future job growth here in our community.”

“It’s an opportunity for leaders of the Space Coast’s newest and most exciting companies to share their products and discuss investment and licensing opportunities with potential investors and strategic partners,” said Chester Straub of Technological Research and Development Authority.

“Palm Bay, being at the forefront of entrepreneurial thinking, is excited to be part of the Summit and we appreciate Congressman Posey’s initiative to bring these talented business leaders together,” said Vicki Northrup, President and CEO of the Greater Palm Bay Chamber of Commerce.

“This is such a great opportunity for talented local businesses to showcase their technology and I’m thankful to Congressman Posey for making this a priority,” said Donn Miller-Kermani, Ph.D., Director of the Women’s Business Center at Florida Tech.

The agenda includes a keynote address by Congressman Bill Posey and presentations by Advanced Magnet Lab Inc., Airgonomix LLC, Bill My Way/Is It There Yet?, Quix Products, Sea-Watch Technologies, SebiaCMET, Inc., Wise Energy Online LLC, and viaRadio Corporation.

Presenters will interact with a panel of entrepreneurial professionals including Richard McNeight, Founder of Federal Systems; Randall Poliner, Managing General Partner of Antares Capital Corporation; Charles Reisnick, Managing Partner, Inflexion Management; John Igoe, Partner, Edwards, Angell, Palmer & Dodge; and Kirstie Chadwick, Managing Partner of Growth Innovators and Alan Smith.

Other speakers include Florida Venture Forum, Florida Institute of Technology, Melbourne Regional Chamber of Commerce, Greater Palm Bay Chamber of Commerce, Cocoa Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, and a special closing presentation by Scott Moody of AuthenTec.

Congressman Bill Posey is pleased to coordinate with Technological Research and Development Authority (TRDA), Brevard Workforce, the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast, Small Business Development Center at Brevard Community College, Women’s Business Center at Florida Institute of Technology, and Space Florida in presenting the Entrepreneur Summit.
