Today the House of Representatives passed legislation with the support of Congressman Bill Posey to prevent Members of Congress from receiving an annual cost of living increase for 2011.
“I’m happy to help pass this legislation,” said Congressman Posey. “I gave back the raise Congress voted itself in 2008, the year before I arrived in Congress, and have cosponsored other measures to block the automatic pay raise for this year and next. Congress is not deserving of a pay raise.” Last year, Congressman Posey returned to the U.S. Treasury close to $100,000 from his office budget. |
