Posey Votes to Block Foreign Aid Bill that Borrows Another $100 Billion
Washington,
April 20, 2024
Last week Congressman Bill Posey (R-Rockledge) voted to block advancing a plan that borrows another $100 billion to pay for foreign aid while failing to take action to secure our southern border. The foreign aid package directed another $60 billion to Ukraine - including a Ukrainian border patrol – but nothing to protect the U.S. border.
“Our nation is facing an unprecedented border security crisis and a crippling national debt putting undue strain on our cities and jeopardizing the safety and security of Americans,” said Congressman Posey. “Defending our borders and balancing our budget should be THE top priority in Washington. I’ve voted against 99% of all spending over the past four years because those bills failed to secure our border. The American people expect Washington to put America first.” The Senate refuses to consider individual spending bills or real border security legislation that will stop the border invasion. President Biden has refused to reverse any of the nearly 100 open border policies he has put in place. Posey added, “the Senate will only take up ‘Too Big to Read’ bills that fail to close border enforcement loopholes and includes unaccountable deficit spending that further adds to our growing $34 trillion national debt.” |
