Congressman Posey released the following statement regarding Constitution Day:

"Today we remember that historic day 243 years ago when our Founding Fathers took the first steps to create a more perfect union by signing the U.S. Constitution in Philadelphia.   We know the Constitution is important because it enshrines the deeply-held American belief that our rights are derived from the Creator, not a government, but it also guarantees the protection of those rights.  We have strayed from the limited role of government our founders envisioned, yet the promise of personal freedom and individual liberty is just as inspiring now as it was then. Given today's national debates,  we all should take time to re-read and reflect on our nation’s founding documents."
