Hurricane Preparedness ResourcesOnce again hurricane season has arrived and it’s time to start forming our plans
Washington,
August 29, 2019
With Hurricane Dorian off our coast, it’s time to get ready and make a plan. The first step in creating a plan is gathering information. Find your local emergency contacts and where to seek shelter in the event of an emergency. Below I have listed some helpful resources for constituents to get ready and stay connected.
Helpful Tips: It’s important to understand your home’s vulnerability, if you live in an evacuation area and how to get the National Weather Service forecasts for your area. Also, you can put together a supply kit, become familiar with evacuation routes and talk with your family and neighbors. Make a list of important emergency contacts and radio/TV stations in your area. Hurricane Monitoring: NOAAWatch
