Reps. Posey, Bishop Launch Congressional Automotive Performance & Motorsports Caucus
New Bipartisan Caucus Promotes American Small Business and Manufacturing
Washington,
March 19, 2019 -
U.S. Representatives Bill Posey (R-Florida) and Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (D-GA) have announced the reformation of the Congressional Automotive Performance & Motorsports Caucus for the 116th Congress. This informal, bi-partisan Congressional Caucus would support and encourage the growth of American small businesses and manufacturing in the automotive field.
“The automotive performance and motorsports industry contributes $45 billion annually to our economy and employs more than one million Americans in small businesses located in every Congressional district in our nation,” said Rep. Posey, Caucus Co-Chair.
“There are five race tracks in Georgia’s Second District alone, and they are testament to the District’s passion for the automobile. The automobile is as American as apple pie, and I am honored to represent the interests of car enthusiasts and the industry in the Congressional Automotive Performance and Motorsports Caucus,” said Rep. Bishop, Caucus Co-Chair.
Small businesses have always been the backbone of our economy. The main goal of the Congressional Automotive Performance & Motorsports Caucus is to educate Members of Congress and their staff on the important role that these small businesses and manufacturers have in creating jobs and supporting our economy.
