Congressman Bill Posey (R-Rockledge) released the following statement concerning the repayment of bonuses by California National Guard Members:

“We owe our veterans a debt of gratitude that can never fully be repaid. I believe the California National Guard members should be held harmless for the misconduct of recruiters and bureaucrats. In May, I supported House-passed legislation which would establish a statue of limitations on the military recovering future overpayments, and which would scrutinize how the Defense Department manages existing cases of service member debt. I think this is a step in the right direction to address this issue. I am pleased the Pentagon has agreed to suspend further action on this for the time being until we can figure out a way to make sure these National Guard members are treated equitably.”
