Melbourne, FL,
August 13, 2013
On Friday, August 16th, Congressman Bill Posey will present Frank Trent of Indialantic with the Purple Heart Medal for injuries he received during his service in Korea. The ceremony will take place at 10:30 AM in the Brevard County Government Complex.
“Mr. Trent is being recognized after all of these years for his courage and his service to our nation during the Korean War,” said Congressman Posey. “It’s because of brave Americans like Frank Trent, and those he served with, that our nation and liberties have endured the test of time and can be passed on to future generations.” Frank Trent is being awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received as a result of hostile actions on March 24, 1951, while serving with the U.S. Army’s Heavy Tank Company, 15th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division. The Purple Heart is a combat decoration awarded to members of the U.S. armed forces who are wounded by the enemy during combat and posthumously to the next of kin in the name of those who are killed in action or die of wounds they received. |
