Posey Receives ‘Spirit of Enterprise’ Award from Chamber of Commerce
Washington,
April 27, 2010 -
Congressman Bill Posey was awarded the “Spirit of Enterprise” Award by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce today. The award is given to Members of Congress who have demonstrated leadership on important business issues and are strong supporters of free enterprise in America.
“I’m honored to receive this award and my hope is that Congress and the Administration will push harder to enact laws that will create a better environment for entrepreneurs, the expansions of U.S. small businesses, and the creation of American jobs,” said Posey. “Unfortunately, Washington has been focused on ways to expand the size and scope of government and our economy has suffered as a result.”
The “Spirit of Enterprise” Award is based on rankings the Chamber of Commerce gives for key votes on issues established before the Congress that help expand and create jobs. Congressman Posey scored 93 out of 100 for support of the private sector and free enterprise.
“The Chamber applauds Representative Posey for supporting the private sector and job growth through these difficult times,” said Tom Donohue, Chamber President and CEO. “He has demonstrated great courage and we commend him.”
