Congressman Bill Posey (R-Rockledge) released the following statement regarding the President’s speech on the future of the War in Afghanistan:

“We must do everything we can to ensure that our armed forces, and those of our Allies currently serving in Afghanistan, emerge victorious in this battle against an enemy which is intent on causing us harm,” said Congressman Posey. “To allow the Taliban to regain power in Afghanistan would only prolong the War on Terror and further provide a sanctuary and a base of operations for Al Qaeda to continue its terror operations. To this end, I will work with the President and my colleagues here in Congress to provide our men and women in uniform with the tools they need to get the job done and return to their families as soon as possible. Afghanistan is an important front in the War on Terror and it is incumbent on the Administration to ensure that our troops are not undermanned.”
