Defense Bill Includes Funding for New Equipment and Pay Increase for Troops

With the support of Congressman Bill Posey (R-Rockledge) the House of Representatives passed the National Defense Authorization Act, legislation that authorizes programs and spending levels for our military and national defense. The bill makes investments in modernizing our fighting forces with the latest technology, replacing equipment and building-up our naval fleet.
“This important legislation provides critical tools that our military needs to protect and defend the nation and appropriately rewards our brave men and women for their service,” said Congressman Posey. In total, the National Defense Authorization Act authorizes $717 billion for our national defense, spending $11.3 billion on military construction efforts. The bill also includes bonuses for military service members who work in high-demand fields and the largest pay increase our troops have seen in nine years. |
