Posey Legislation Requires Federal Regulators to Enroll in Obamacare
Washington,
September 24, 2013
Today Congressman Bill Posey (R-Rockledge) introduced the Health Care Regulator Accountability Act (H.R. 3170), legislation aimed at making Obamacare more accountable by requiring federal employees responsible for administering the law to enroll in an Obamacare health plan. The bill applies to employees of any federal agency whose duties include writing health care regulations, implementing the health care law or enforcing it.
“My position remains that Obamcare must be repealed. That said, this bill is a big step in holding accountable the unelected Washington officials making countless decisions affecting the cost of and access to health care for millions of Americans. It is common sense that regulators will be extra judicious in their actions knowing that they must live under the regulations they are imposing on the rest of America.” said Congressman Posey. “Too often leaders in Washington make rules for others and exempt themselves – that must change.” |
