Posey Salutes WWII Veterans on 68th Anniversary of D-Day Invasion
Washington,
June 6, 2012
Congressman Bill Posey (R-Rockledge) released following statement commemorating the 68th Anniversary of the Allied Invasion of Normandy:
“Sixty-eight years ago today, tens of thousands of brave American soldiers, joined by Allied forces from around the free world, led the D-Day invasion of Normandy – the largest amphibious invasion in history – and changed the course of the war and the world forever.” “Because of their courage and dedication to the cause of liberty, the world was rid of a great tyranny and the light of freedom was allowed to shine on some of the darkest corners of the Earth. “All that we have built since then is because of their sacrifice and we owe our fallen heroes a debt of gratitude which can only be repaid in full by continuing to pass the torch of freedom from one generation to the next.” |
