Congressman Posey Honors High School Students with Congressional Medal of Merit

Congressman Bill Posey (R-Rockledge) awarded the 2009 Congressional Medal of Merit to 26 distinguished 15th Congressional District high school students at the Brevard County Government Complex today.
The graduating seniors were nominated by their schools for the Congressional Medal of Merit based on criteria set by individual Members of Congress. Each student has demonstrated exemplary citizenship and academic excellence throughout their high school careers. “Each of these young men and women has demonstrated an outstanding sense of service to their peers, schools and community,” said Congressman Posey. “Honoring their achievements with the Congressional Medal of Merit is a privilege, and I congratulate each of them along with their parents, families, teachers and communities.”  The following students received the 2009 Congressional Medal of Merit: From Brevard County: James Brandenburg, Cocoa High School; Lance Freeberg, Viera High; Charlene Gracia, Florida Air Academy; Michelle Grubka, Melbourne High School; George Holstein III, Community Christian School; Ashley Lipscomb, Rockledge High; Bryan Maxwell, Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy; Aaron Mayer, Merritt Island High School; Lindsay Miller, Palm Bay High School; Jared Mushell, Eau Gallie High School; Bao-Uyen Nguyen, Edgewood Jr./Sr. High School; Katherine Nickerson, West Shore Jr./Sr. High School; Erica Robes, Merritt Island Christian; Trever Steele, Brevard Christian School; Harry Tuazon, Bayside High School; Noel Turner, Satellite High; From Indian River County: Margaret Cancelosi, Saint Edward’s School; Kyrie Carlson, Indian River Charter High; Tim Martinelli, Sebastian River High; Sarah Sarnoski, Vero Beach High From Osceola County: Jarrett Lane, Osceola High; Genesis Figueroa, Kissimmee Christian Academy; Priscila Quito, Gateway High School; Widler Rislin, Poinciana High; Antinia Taylor, New Dimensions High School; Roy Tyson, Harmony High; Joseph Williams, St. Cloud High From Polk County: Nichole Periquito, Ridge Community High School; Liliana Sanchez, Haines City High The 15th Congressional District includes all of Indian River and portions of Brevard, Osceola and Polk counties. |
