Posey Supports Funding Orlando VA Hospital
Washington, Jul 10 -
The House passed legislation today supported by Congressman Bill Posey (R-Rockledge) to provide the remaining money needed to construct the new Orlando Veterans Hospital. Funding for the facility is contained in the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Act of 2010 which was approved by the House 415-3.
“We owe a debt of gratitude to our nation’s veterans and to those who serve in our nation’s armed forces,” said Congressman Posey. “This new veteran’s hospital will provide veterans living in the space coast and central Florida with state of the art in patient advanced medical care that they need and deserve.”
The Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Act also includes funding for veterans benefits, military construction, veterans medical research and funding for information technology needs at VA medical facilities.
In April, Congressman Posey joined with other Central Florida lawmakers for a House Veterans’ Affairs Committee field hearing in Orlando to discuss the need for and importance of the new hospital for Florida’s large military veteran population.
