Rep. Posey's Statement on the Iran Agreement
Washington,
September 11, 2015
Congressman Bill Posey (R-Rockledge) released the following statement regarding the President’s agreement with Iran:
“The agreement with Iran poses a threat to our national security, further destabilizes the region and endangers our allies like Israel. Iran is a known sponsor of terrorism and removal of sanctions empowers Iran with hundreds of billions dollars to maintain their terror activities and continue to undermine U.S. interests abroad. Furthermore, sidestepping Congress by going to the United Nations for the first vote on the agreement is deeply troubling as both Republicans and Democrats in Congress have long agreed on the threat that Iran poses and have in the past voted for sanctions in near unison. For these reasons I oppose the agreement with Iran and have cosponsored a resolution of disapproval in Congress.” |
