Congressman Bill Posey (R-Rockledge) will host, and the public is invited to attend, the 2013 Congressional Art Competition on Saturday, April 20th from 11 AM to 2 PM at the BBC Planetarium—Building 19 in Cocoa. This year’s artwork will feature “Patriotic Works of Art”. No late entries will be accepted. Judging begins at Noon and formal award ceremonies begin at 1 PM.

“This is a great opportunity for talented young artists in the 8th District to get inspired about patriotism and showcase their works of art to our community,” said Congressman Posey.

The Congressional Art Competition is open to all public, private, and home school high school students and is being held in Congressional Districts across the nation. Artwork must meet submission guidelines and all required forms must be completed and submitted with artwork for judging. The winning artwork will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for the entire year and cannot be returned prior to the end of the exhibit. The first and second runners up will have their art displayed in Congressman Posey’s Washington and Florida offices respectively.

The 2013 Congressional Art Competition is presented by Congressman Bill Posey in coordination with Brevard Cultural Alliance and BCC Planetarium.
