Washington, May 18, 2022 -

Congressman Bill Posey (R-Rockledge) hosted the 2022 Congressional Art Competition, entitled “An Artistic Discovery,” last month at the Vero Beach Museum of Art.  Students in the community were tasked with creating a piece that highlighted this year’s theme focusing on the Indian River Lagoon. Three finalists were chosen, and the judges also chose Merit Award winners from Brevard and Indian River Counties. This year’s winning piece, titled “Under & Over,” by Caleigh Pressley of Indian River Charter High School will be displayed in the United States Capitol in Washington, DC.

“I commend all of the students who competed this year,” said Congressman Posey. “Creativity and expression are the important building blocks of innovation that help us advance and pave the way to a stronger future.”
