Hurricane Preparedness Resources and Contacts

Melbourne, FL, October 5, 2016 -

Whether you are a new resident or have lived here for years, it’s important to make a plan for emergencies. The first step in making a plan is gathering information. Find your local emergency contacts for the types of emergencies that are most common in your community. Also, find out where to seek shelter in the event of an emergency.

Other Helpful Tips:
It’s important to understand your home’s vulnerability, if you live in an evacuation area and how to get the National Weather Service forecasts for your area. Also, you can put together a supply kit, become familiar with evacuation routes and talk with your family and neighbors. Make a list of important emergency contacts and radio/TV stations in your area.

Emergency Resources: Below is an emergency contact list containing federal, state and local government emergency contact numbers and resources.
