August 2, 2010 Stay Informed, Keep in Touch (This is Your Last Newsletter Until 2011, Unless You Opt In) Dear friend, The House has just completed its legislative business for the summer and Members of Congress have returned to their home districts for the month of August. While Congress will be back in session in September, my ability to communicate on the issues will be very limited according to Congressional rules. And while there are still many important issues left unresolved by Congress – from preventing a $3.8 trillion tax increase from taking effect in January to creating a new plan for NASA and securing our nation’s borders and cutting spending in Washington – House rules prohibit member offices from hosting official telephone town halls or sending out Congressional newsletters and e-newsletters during mandated ‘black out’ periods. I ask you to consider this final opportunity to sign-up and become a subscriber to my E-Mail Newsletter and Telephone Town Halls so we can continue to communicate as Congress moves forward with these and many other important issues which affect us all and our nation’s future. I strongly believe that the success of self-government depends heavily on a responsible, informed citizenry. Just a reminder that you can view videos of my floor speeches on my YouTube page, take my updated 2010 Constituent Survey, or contact my office to share your thoughts and concerns. Don't forget that my office can schedule tours of Washington, D.C. or request a flag flown over the Capitol. It is my pleasure to serve you in Congress. Please let me know if my staff or I can be of any assistance to you. Sincerely, Bill Posey
