National Debt

Debt ClockWith the closing of the federal government’s fiscal year on Sept 30, 2009, it is very concerning that the federal government ended the year with the largest deficit in an single year (nearly $1.6 Trillion) and the largest cumulative debt at nearly $12 trillion. Continuing on this path as though the day of reckoning will never arrive is irresponsible. The Directors of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) agree that this current path is unsustainable. It is hard to understand just how much debt our nation has incurred and what impact this will have on the future of our nation and future generations of Americans.

To help the public better understand how our current financial situation breaks down, I've included this link to the National Debt Clock.
